Using my prize....

I was lucky enough to win a scrapbook kit from Sue Aka Mini Owner and took it with me to the papermaze crop in Otley, Suffolk on Saturday.
I also went prepared with the current sketch from Scrap 365 and after the obligatory chatting, coffee drinking and much cake eating , created this layout.

The Heidi Grace kit was beautifully put together and I've still got tons left to play with.

The photo was taken in a Shelter on Aldeburgh beach, It looks beautiful and sunny but it was bitterly cold, and the shelter was a welcome rest from the wind and cold! My sister in law, her husband and children were visiting us from "up North" and this is one of the few photos of the grown ups!

This is the current Sketch

February Scrapology Card challenge.....

The  team at  Scrapology invite you to create a Mother's Day Card  or any type of special female card for February's challenge which runs from 15th Feb to 15th March.
The challenge was set by Karen Parkhurst and all the details can be found on the blog, including Karen's lovely card plus inspiration from the Design Team.
There is of course a super stash prize .......

This is my card which I made from a piece of patterned paper from my well loved and nearly used up (boo hoo) Lucille collection by Basic Grey! The letter stickers are by October Afternoon.

The sewing pattern paper is perfect for my Mum, since I clearly remember her slaving away at her sewing machine to make me and my sister most of our clothes in the 70's and beyond....

Pop over to the Blog for all the details on how to enter your project.
Hope to see you there.

Selfies....and Scrapology....

I know selfies are officially all the rage now, (and have been forever if you ask my 2 teenagers!) but it takes me a while sometimes to catch on....

While we were waiting outside a shop ( for the girls) in Menorca on holiday last Summer we decided to mess about with the camera (not a phone - but a proper camera)  and managed to take our very first selfies ! A bit more practice required I think :)

I used the results for my Scrapology Layout for the "X is for (e)xplosion " February challenge.
See HERE for all the details and amazing design team creations. As always there's a Sketch and a super prize, so it's well worth having a go.

I created a rather dainty sort of explosion with die cut butterflies and the most adorable coloured crochet mats which came from this fabulous Etsy shop Raspberrytreats.

Here's the sketch..

...and the layout to scraplift is on the Scrapology  blog.

While I'm here....My scrappy pal Lou Collins has a new blog, and with it ..... A GIVEAWAY !
Pop over for a peek HERE you won't be disappointed :)
