Gorgeous girls.....

The first ever layout I made was titled "Gorgeous Girls"  and I couldn't think of a better title for the page I created yesterday at the Papermaze crop, when I scrapped a recent photo of my daughters.

I used the April sketch by Sue over on her blog, Me and Mine and simply rotated it to fit my photo and page size.
I was able to buy the perfect 2 shades of Bazzil at our lunch time trip to the Papermaze shop to coordinate with Amy's floral top and also bought some of the new " Sew Lovely" papers by Carta Bella, which are undoubtedly my new favourites !

Here's the sketch....

Scrapology card challenge......freebies !

This month over at the Scrapology blog, the card challenge is to create a card using magazine freebies.....

Check out the blog for details of how to enter and of course, fabulous DT inspiration to get you started.

For my card I used some very pretty 3D butterflies that came with Simply cards and papercraft magazine, and some doily patterned paper , free with the Scrapbook Magazine.

I punched 4 large hearts from cardstock , inked, shaped and layered them to form the large flower shape and raided my scraps drawer for the text pp. A very simple and very quick card.

Hope you're inspired to have a go....click Here to find out more .

Layout Challenge for April...

The latest challenge for Scrapology is ready and waiting for your entries!  Right HERE.
All the details are on the blog along with some fabulous Design team inspiration.

The fantastic and beautiful layout by Steph Devlin was chosen and had me feeling slightly faint, since it was completely out of my comfort zone. The Scrapology sketch helped me a lot and I was very happy with my interpretation in the end :)
As you 'll see is is a far cry from the original BUT the lovely thing about a Scraplift/sketch challenge is that it's a jumping off point....why don't you have a go and see what you can create?   There's a great stash prize on offer too....

Here's my layout..which uses some patterned paper from the Wander collection by Basic Grey and journaling die-cuts from Jillibean soup.

The verse is by Dr Seuss, and is one of my favourites and I think it's quite pertinent for a couple of teenagers who are about to sit their A levels !

This is the sketch , and you can see the original layout here. You have till 5th May to enter.
